Flat Improv is partnering with World’s Greatest Improv School (WGIS) to offer online improv performance opportunities, including Online Improv Mixer Shows. The Mixer Shows were offered by WGIS in the past until they moved to Flat Improv in June, 2024. These shows are now fully run and financially supported independently by Flat Improv along with your community support.

What are they?
Join our mixer shows as an individual improviser. You will put on a 20 minute show. If you are an individual, you will be placed on a one-day-only team and do a show!

Do I need to be an expert?
Nope! You should be comfortable in a scene and be familiar with Zoom, but you don’t need to be advanced or an expert in either of those things. I’ve put some of the long form editing terms on this page, which can help you with some of the setup. If you’re new to long-form improv, leave the edit moves to others if you wish and just try jumping in when you can!
I open the Zoom room half an hour before call time to ask questions, practice or run through anything you’d like, and visit with the performers. If you have any questions about online improv, the show, editing, forms — this is a great time to ask!
Mixer shows are similar to our jams! If you’re unsure if you’re ready, come to one of our free online jams and see what you think. If you come to one of my jams (Jen), stick around and ask me questions about these shows if you wish!

How it works:
- Register for a show as an individual. This is on a first-come first-served basis. If the form is available and you sign up, you are in the show! If the show is full, you will see a notification and can go on the waitlist for a chance at a spot!
- Shows are recorded and streamed from Zoom. Make sure that you have zoom installed and your camera/mic is ready to go!
- You will receive an email 1-2 weeks before the show with all of the details. You will receive all of the info about attending/doing the show, and a link to the zoom room.
- Show up (at least) 10 minutes before showtime! You will be placed on a team of 3-8 people and you will decide on a name and form at this time. We’ll make sure everyone is comfortable with the choices, and help answer any questions if you have them. The room opens 30 minutes before call-time to give you a chance to ask questions, warm up, or chat with other performers.
- Do the show! Each team will get about 20 minutes to perform!
Where they stream
The Online Improv Mixer shows will stream on Twitch and YouTube. They remain available on YouTube. You can find our past shows here.
